Three working blocks. One vegan formula.
The architectural insight of this formula is that collagen support is not just about supplying building blocks. It is about supplying the building blocks and protecting them from breakdown while keeping the dermis hydrated enough for the new collagen to function. Three jobs, one formula.
VegCol™ delivers the plant peptide building blocks (7.5 g) and the bioactive signals that prompt your body to make collagen. Vitamin C from acerola cherry and rose hip extract is the essential cofactor your body needs to actually assemble those amino acids into collagen. Without vitamin C, dietary amino acids cannot become collagen. With it, the synthesis pathway runs.
Then the antioxidant defence layer (glutathione 500 mg, astaxanthin 12 mg, vitamin E 10 mg, rose hip polyphenols 100 mg) protects the new collagen from the oxidative breakdown that ages skin. And the hyaluronic acid (200 mg) hydrates the dermis where the new collagen is doing its work.
Build, protect, hydrate. Three jobs, one vegan formula, two scoops a day, for 4 to 8 weeks of compounding visible benefit.

Questions, answered.
Is this actually collagen? How can collagen be vegan?
Honest answer: collagen as a protein is animal-derived by biological definition. Plants do not make collagen. What VegCol™ delivers is a plant peptide complex of glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline-equivalent amino acid building blocks, which are the same amino acids your body uses to make its own collagen. It does not contain pre-formed Type I or III collagen the way a marine product does. What it does is support your body’s own collagen synthesis with the precursors and bioactive signals it needs. This is a legitimate, clinically validated mechanism for skin benefit, and it is fully vegan. We choose to be transparent about how this works rather than imply something the biology does not support.
Should I take this or the Be Wellness Japanese Marine Collagen?
Depends on what matters to you. Be Wellness Japanese Marine Collagen delivers 8.44 g of marine-derived Type I and III collagen peptides per scoop, the most-clinically-validated bioavailable form of collagen for skin benefit, suitable for non-vegetarians and pescatarians. Be Wellness Vegan Collagen delivers 7.5 g of VegCol™ plant peptides plus 500 mg glutathione, 200 mg hyaluronic acid, 12 mg astaxanthin, rose hip, acerola, Sesbania biotin, and vitamin E, suitable for vegans, vegetarians, Jains, and anyone preferring a plant-based formula. Both are excellent products. The right choice is the one that matches your diet and your beauty philosophy.
What does VegCol actually contain?
VegCol™ is a next-generation vegetable peptide complex derived from plant proteins. It delivers a specific amino acid profile rich in glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline-equivalent precursors, which are the building blocks your body uses to synthesise its own collagen. It also contains bioactive plant peptides that have been studied for their ability to signal fibroblasts (the cells that make collagen in your skin) to upregulate collagen production. Clinical research on VegCol has shown improvements in skin hydration, smoothness, and elasticity over consistent daily use (Cosmetics & Toiletries, 2023; Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, 2022)
How long until I see results?
Hydration shifts in skin typically show up within 1 to 2 weeks. Brightness and skin tone improvements usually follow over weeks 3 to 4 as the glutathione and vitamin C build up. Visible improvements in skin texture, fine line appearance, and firmness typically take 4 to 8 weeks of consistent daily use. Hair and nail benefits compound over a similar window. Consistency matters more than precise dose; skipping days is the most common reason a beauty supplement does not deliver.
Is the astaxanthin in this product vegan?
Yes. The astaxanthin in this formula is derived from marine microalgae (specifically Haematococcus pluvialis, the same source used in most premium astaxanthin supplements). ‘Marine’ here refers to the algae source, not a fish or shellfish source. Microalgae are plants and are fully vegan. This is the same reason spirulina and chlorella are vegan-suitable.
What does it taste like, and what sweetener is used?
Natural orange flavour. The formula uses sucralose (INS 955), a non-caloric sweetener that gives the product a clean, slightly sweet taste without sugar. We disclose this openly because we know some buyers, particularly those choosing this product on natural-and-clean grounds, prefer to avoid sucralose. Other sweetener options were considered, and sucralose was chosen for the best balance of taste, stability, and dissolution. If you avoid sucralose specifically, this may not be the right product for you.
Are there any side effects?
Generally well tolerated. The most common minor effects are mild digestive symptoms in the first week as your body adjusts to the plant peptide load (these usually resolve), and very rarely mild skin breakouts in the first 2 to 3 weeks as your skin biology adjusts. The product contains sucralose; people with sucralose sensitivity should consider an alternative. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or on medication, check with your doctor before starting any new supplement.
Is this suitable for vegans, vegetarians, and Jain consumers?
Yes to all three. The product is 100% vegan: no animal ingredients, no dairy, no fish, no bovine, no eggs, no gelatin. It is suitable for vegetarians. For Jain consumers, the product does not contain root vegetables in its formulation; please confirm with the Be Wellness team or check the label for any specific dietary requirements. Sourcing of all ingredients is documented for FSSAI compliance.
Can I take this with other Be Wellness products?
Yes. The Vegan Collagen formula is a focused skin and beauty-from-within product, complementary to the Be Wellness Multivitamin (broader foundation), Be Wellness Hair & Nails Support For Her (focused hair, skin, nails), or Be Wellness Hair & Beard Support For Him. The Vegan Collagen and Hair & Nails For Her both contain Sesbania biotin and hyaluronic acid at safe combined daily levels, so the two compound well for skin-and-hair outcomes.
